The guide...

Soooo I've played SC for a while but never on a deep level. I noticed that the Strategy Guide for this game is huge and has frame data and about 10 or so pages dedicated to each character. I'm wondering if that's worth using? I know there's been patches since and not sure exactly how much has changed. I don't want to get used to something out of date but I also prefer actually having a printed guide as opposed to looking online (plus, GameStop has the guide on sale for $9.99) Any input from peeps that learn their frames would be much appreciated!

As for the guide itself, it's not 100% anymore, (even new there were a lot of typos on the frame data) but it's still good for the broad strokes.

There is also an android app that condenses the Wiki frame data and move lists into one neat little package. That can be handy to have if you want something portable next to you while you're practicing etc.

Welcome to the forums!

I suggest you start here: http://8wayrun.com/categories/soulcalibur-v-soul-arenas.86/

Each character has a Soul Arena and in each one there is detailed information about frame data and anything you might want to know.

And frame data is definitely worth learning if you want to compete in high level play.

Good luck!

Thanks! and I'm going to do that as well. As soon as I decide who I'm going to main.......

That sounds awesome. I have something like that for Street Fighter but didn't know of anything for Soul. Do you happen to know what it's called? I have an iPhone but nothing comes up in the app store. S'pose it's possible that it was only written for droids =|

In short, yeah the guide's still good. Some of the info is now inaccurate, but for the most part it's still spot on.

Sweet. Just wanted to make sure everyone here wasn’t going to be like “NO, THE GUIDE WAS WRITTEN BY A CRAZY PERSON” or something to that effect.
