    Well, that depends how you're doing it...
    You get well over a second though, so plenty really.

    i use the both dpad and joy at the same time

    Oh, well, all I can say is practice.
    You can do it very quickly using that method, as it's essentially just 6 button presses. That's the way I do it and I have no issues.
