I still can't ukemi...

Some knockdowns won't let you ukemi. Generally you want to keep tapping guard and the direction you want to go in when you get knocked down.

It can be tricky at first because the timing differs from move to move (except "untechable knockdowns" where it won't work), try what Party Wolf said and it'll work. Most moves are easily ukemi'd but keep in mind that it is sometimes better to just stay on the ground than standing up immediately!

3. After you blocked an attack use AA or BB. These moves are safe and can't be punished if you block afterwards. If your opponent tries to block but still get hit the used move is unsafe and can be punished with AA, BB or faster moves ("block punishment"). Remember unsafe moves and punish them. 4. Respect the matchup! You can't play in the same way against Maxi and Pyyrha. Seems obvious but a common mistake.

The fact that you should block after opponent blocking is only partially true depending on who you are using.
