Is English Your Native Language?

They say the Internet brings all sorts of people together. They also say that about music and video games. Let's see how much truth that holds...

I myself was born and raised in Venezuela, so my first language is Spanish. I think English is very easy grammatically, but pronunciation is a bit harder (and the writing is not at all phonetic or intuitive), and I tend to make some very awkward sentences.

What about you? What's your native language and what do you think about English?

English, of course. But learning other languages isn't that difficult for me. French has similarities with English that can help learn it well. However, that said, I think Spanish is easier to learn than French because of the phonetic writing and pronunciation (i.e. You say it how you see it).

I married a bilingual woman, and her entire family speaks fluent Spanish.

I did not do very well in Spanish when I took it nearly 10 years ago.

I primarily speak English, due to a majority of my ancestors being from the British Isles (Minus Welsh, plus I am a mutt.), but I learned a tad bit of Spanish, French, and German.
I used to be able to hold a conversation in all three, but got out of practice and now only use small words.

My honest opinion, the English they speak over in the UK is better than what some Americans speak, just because you hardly hear a British person use slang terms like most of us do. That and they tend to be more formal. (Or maybe they make you believe that.)
