Trying to make a "Layout Switch" toggle on my stick

Hey guys,

I'm making my own arcade stick, and something I've been looking to add to it is a toggle that lets me switch my major button layouts from Hori to Matcatz.

Unfortunately, I majored in computer science, and electrical engineering isn't my forte. I know enough on how to solder, and I padhacked my existing sticks to be dual-modded. Any idea how I'd go about doing this?

What you can do is use the same wiring for X button and put it to the buttons of your choice like this Vewlix x MK stick (courtesy of Kuya_Joe from SRK) :

Hope this helps,

It looks like, in that case, you're wiring two buttons to the same input, which I can do. I'm trying to essentially have a switch to toggle the inputs, so that a stick that is normally:
[X][Y]
[A][LT][RT]

...can flip to...
[X][LT]
[A][Y][RT]

godspu (omg I remember you from way long ago! hai there) suggestion of the rotary switch looks exactly like what I'm looking for! I wire one layout to the switch, and if someone wants to change it, they flip (twist) the switch, making the whole layout switch so that buttons that were previously wired to the default are instead wired to the alternate layout.

Now I just have to find myself one of these switches...
