Watup Homies

Hey everyone, I recently bought this game and I play on XBL and my username is PaintedSpiders. Some of you have probably seen me, I main Maxi and I suck dick. Party Wolf told me to join the forum after asking him hella questions about the game.

So, from the months that I've had this game I just have a few more questions. Thanks in advance.

A little preface though:

I'm not new to gaming nor fighters. Just Soul Calibur V, in fact I've played other games at a competitive level and I think of myself as a pretty decent gamer in general.

Ok, the questions.

I couldn't find this anywhere but I might be wrong, whenever I GI it seems like some moves (kicks?) you can't GI period. Is this the case?

What's the best way to familiarize myself with knowing other characters? Their strings and mix ups, I've found myself losing because I let go of block and try to punish something that I just can't because I'm inexperienced. Should I watch videos or play against people? Both?

I'm sure this gets asked a lot but I don't really know who to main. I do enjoy the competitive aspect of video games the most. So I wouldn't want to pick a homie like Dampierre. And if this helps, I like to play characters that are equally offensive and defensive. Not so much punish oriented and not so much in-your-face oriented. Although, I'm aware that no matter the character, every person can have a different play style and can play an offensive character defensive and vice versa.

Anyway, last question is this, is there anyone out there that would like to teach me personally? No homo, I've just found that whenever I play a game if someone teaches me the learning process is hella faster. It doesn't matter if I get my ass whooped, I just want to get better.

Well thanks, lata.

You can GI anything except for Unblockables, the first hit of a CE, and when you get hit by an aGI's GI properties.

Both and take certain scenarios that you couldn't beat to training mode to learn ways around them.

just mess around with all of them until you find one you like, but I think Maxi is an in-your-face oriented character.

Anyway, hope you keep around.
Do be careful, for every person there is a perfect main.

Thanks for all the info dude, and I'll definitely check out the chatroom and the Q&A's.

Just one more thing, I was looking into Pyrrha and Pyrrha Omega, I don't know where in the forums to look for their differences, can you or anyone point out the main ways in which they differ? Thanks.
