Obviously, I'm new. (: I mainly play DOA, and I dabble in other FG's like VF and SF. Lately though I've been wanting another fighting game to play along with DOA, and VF and SF don't really grab me. So waiting for the SJ DOA stream, I decided to watch SCV to see what it was about. Since I'm here you can assume I liked what I saw.

So far Astaroth, Nightmare, and Hilde look most appealing. If anyone wants to beat me, my GamerTag is Jefffcore (with 3 f's). Some help would be appreciated, too. (Anything that saves me reading; you know). :p
 
Aw, but reading is the best part!

...Okay, I lied, it's really boring and tedious but it's important to know that stuff and even more importantly to do the work on your own. You can't depend on other people to fight for you, so you need to form good habits and all that to really find the enjoyment in eviscerating better players. And at the end of the day, isn't that what this is all about? Eviscerating better players?

Well, in any event I highly recommend learning all you can so you can enjoy more of the game, there's really nothing else quite like it out there. If you've got any questions you can ask me or just about anyone else around here, most folks are all right with helping out a bit. But you really do need to do as much of it on your own as possible :D

And if you're looking for more folks to play with you can try our online player list and the XBL matchfinder threads. I, too, am always up for more mischief in-game though I can't promise you'll leave a party or room containing me without some emotional scarring...

If those characters look the most appealing to you head to the Soul Arena to check out their info and if ya need any help training you can always hit me up and we can spar (I main Dampierre btw) hope to fight ya sometime! Lets have fun thats the point of any FG!

I would take MarKOed and Wandrian's advice. Otherwise, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders.

However, my advice is to take it one baby step at a time. Eventually, you'll reach the level you desire to be. For now, just focus on learning the fundamentals. I'm a lethargic person, but I have to do more work at studying the essential stuff.

This means fight valiantly, lose, come back stronger from it(via support), win, and repeat. That's more or less what us fighting gamers are all about haha.

Generally, I find it easier to take in information by doing or hearing, as opposed to reading it. Since the games been out for so long, I figure the quicker the better.

At the moment I'm just familiarizing myself with move list's.
