R.I.P. Thread

RIP to an american icon, that was brought down by selfish union workers.

They aint raising prices, they aint moving to china, they are straight up closing the doors! No more twinkies, no hohos, no ding dongs.....and my favorite, LEMON PIES!!

Stoners across the world are in morning (including myself) *pours bongwater on curb for ones lost homies*

Yes, they aren't moving, or raising prices, or reevaluating their product line. Take a minute to ask yourself, as I did. WHY IS THAT?

HRD, before you start shitting all over the unions maybe you should read this:

or maybe this:

Essentially, if you go digging you'll find that the corporate board at hostess has been siphoning revenues into their own salaries, instead of making any effort at saving the company (which was already in deep trouble since 2004) they planned to sink it and give themselves golden parachutes, because it allowed them to circumvent bankruptcy compensation rules. Now they have people (such as yourself) believing their cover story while they prepare to spend the rest of their lives on beaches someplace nice. In short, you've been played. What's more if the company had declared bankruptcy the board would have been removed and the company allowed to continue with a new board, 18,000 people would have kept their jobs and you would still be able to enjoy twinkies and lemon pies... but that would have cost the execs their big fat parting gifts. Executives made calculated decisions to kill hostess to line their own pockets, not union members.

As for your favorite snacks, rest easy, I have a strong feeling that at least SOME of them, perhaps even with their names intact, will be returning. The name "twinkie" for instance is a somewhat valuable commodity and if the previous bandit-like actions of the executive board are any indication anything of value will be appraised, looted and promptly fenced. Though most of the bigger items already have knock offs and LEMON PIES are already made by several competent manufacturers.
