Did you get the tail?
A method I found useful is to be lightly armored (so you can run fast) and have a high damage weapon (I used Black Knight Sword).
I dash in to destroy the crystal (stop short just right before to regain stamina) which will piss Seath off and get him to start screeching.
While he's screeching, I turn and sprint to the tip of his tail and start dicing.

Man I haven't gotten tail in ye... oh you meant in the game. Nah I haven't gone back to seath after my 2nd failed attempt. I can't use any of the black knight weapons since my strength stat is only at 24. I use the lightening uchigatana.
 
I don't get bummed about losing souls any more because there are so many areas to farm them for huge numbers easily that I've never felt too bad about losing a lot of them. I didn't even die without recovering until Blighttown, but since then it's happened a few times (Sen's fortress... what asshole built that place? Probably Sen...).

I've been helped/helped people in Anor Londo a lot since I got there. I've killed the boss to that level 3 times but haven't even gotten there yet personally, just beat them down for other people (who REALLY suck). Seriously, some guy was hitting Oristein with Soul Arrow over and over and it wasn't doing anything so I basically killed both of them myself.
 
rofl i'm at level 132 and i've done so much farming to get there. it takes me over 100K souls to level up now. i've lost out on 80 or 90k souls sooooooooo many times i don't even care anymore. it is hella rare that i will actually go back and look for my recovery.

jeuce, if you are using the lightning uchi...that is what i was using earlier...i'm assuming you have good DEX. take the soul of quelaan and a +10 falchion and do yourelf a favor and make quelaag's furysword. it is similar to the uchi but does twice the damage at +5. you might have to go to the catacombs and farm that titanite demon a few times, but by mow he should be child's play and getting to him takes like 30 seconds and he gives you a demon titanite every time to upgrade the furysword.
