Def Jam FFNY

Exodus

Did anyone else here ever play it? Honestly, it's one of my favorite games and fighting systems of all time. I had so much fun really beating in people's faces with random characters like Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes. I also believe as a fighting system, it's really under-rated. It allowed for such intense and frantic matches. Plus, how many other games give you the option to hit Bubba Sparxxx in the head with a lead pipe. I just wish it had an online option...

Def Jam Icon sucks ass though.

Agreed FFNY was a great fighting game for the last gen consoles. one of my favorites but, i thought Icon was going to be better. It turned out to be one of the worst games i ever spent money on in my life.

I know. I was so excited when they released information of a new entry into the series. Then I saw the gameplay videos. Then I read the reviews. Then I played the demo. I wasn't so excited after that.

I'm sure it's the general consensus that Fight for NY was the best in the series. It did everything the first game did but better. That's how ALL sequels should work. I honestly have no idea what those idiots were thinking when they made Icons

I was a huge fan of both the original and FFNY and thankfully didn't get to play Icon

FFNY had quite possibly the deepest character customization options outside of a wrestling game. The tats, outfits, jewelry really gave a unique flare for your character, while the fighting style combination made for really unique characters (since the order in which you learned the style greatly mattered as well). FYI mine was Kickboxer-Street fighter-Martial Artist with LOTS of bling.

Vendetta was simply an over the top wrestling game (which i think was sorely needed, kinda like Blitz: The League was to football), written with the AKI engine that was used with many great wrestling games from the past. It was originally supposed to be a WCW game but the plans were scrapped when WWE purchased WCW, so they went with rappers instead.
And DMX was the definition of broken. I swear with my friends it soon became a game of "pick DMX first" since there were no mirror matches in Vendetta.
I swear he is up there in cheapness with such greats as Ivan Ooze. Almost EVERY single move he had either targeted the head, or was a head submission. Tap out win, every single time. Even Ivan Ooze would tap out.
