EDIT: On another note, though the writing is all over the place, the actual story for the new DMC is still better and more complex than the other DMC's. I mean it's part of why Capcom gave the game to Ninja Theory to begin with.
And i'm not saying the DMC story is great here, just that there's more of one here than the other DMC games presented.

my ass. the old DMC's story is better than the new one, just because theres more of something doesnt make it good lol. The older DMC series didnt take the story seriously for the most part so it was cheesy, but it was entertaining. It was something fun to watch. It was enjoyable to watch. This new one trys to take it seriously and ends up falling flat on its asshole, where it was also cheesy but to the point where it is unbearable to watch. You can tell they were trying to be serious but they failed, and when that happens you have rock fucking bottom. NT had no fucking clue what they were doing with the writing for this at all. Its just flat out bad.

I saw a video on YouTube once of a shrimp running on a treadmill while the Benny Hill theme played. Basically, that had a better plot than the first four Devil May Cry games.
