Hey everyone, I'm a college freshmen on USA's west coast. I used to play Soul Calibur II when I was younger as Talim mostly, but being that it was offline and I was younger, I didn't develop much strategy other than just a rush down and I don't have much experience playing actual people, so that's how I found 8wr. Which by the way, for everybody in here I'm really impressed with the community I've seen so far. Anyways, now I'm on SCV on Xbox, my GT is EchosInsilence if anybody ever wants to play or anything, I'm still pretty nooby but I'm open to playing anybody. So thanks for reading this. =)

Have you found a main yet? If not, Patroklos may just be your guy. Rushdown is kind of his thing, and he's great for learning the game with since his learning curve is fairly easy to get past.

There are some pretty good articles floating around here regarding the basics of the game that are kind of...not in the least bit explained within the game itself.

Improving your game and competing mroe seriously is the primary focus of this site, but there's also some fairly popular corners around here that are all about the lighter side of the series as well.


Aw, and of course if you need anything just ask pretty much anyone. Most folks around here are fine with helping or explaining something if asked, at least until the timer starts ticking down. At that point it's all about the killin'. We can laugh afterwards...or even during, if your present company is pscyhotic enough :3

Ah, good old Talim, welcome to 8wr! A good replacement for Talim in this game is Natsu, but I mainly play Leixia now because of her mixups and what not.

Still not quite sure, I'm just trying to mess around with everyone and see which char I take to the best, right now I'm having lots of fun with Hilde and especially aPat, it's ridiculous for a D rank to be running around with aPat, I know, but on ranked I feel like I'm being more consistent with aPat and I don't get full on walled as often.

I haven't really looked at Pat yet but I'll make sure to give him a go, thanks! And yeah, I definitely wanna work towards getting a lot better so hopefully I can put up somewhat of a fight for most of you guys here...but that may be a long while. Thanks for all the advice and help I really appreciate it!

Thanks for the reply, I was actually looking at some threads earlier and remember you because of the picture. =P And yeah I messed around with Natsu for a little bit and I liked her a lot, I might end up maining her, haven't tried lexia yet but I didn't really like Xianghua in SCII so I've been avoiding her a litte =P
