Help chosing

Tekken is technical but the random factor plays a big role in the game, basically the games ofer this:
Great normal hit launchers that are safe (most of them) and fast.
They though if the starters are so important fast and safe, why the people would use pokes?
Then, they decieded to buff some pokes with crazy counter-hit propierties and make them faster than launchers.
The game requires skill, no doubt about it, but if you take a look at the videos of top players you will see lots of "random" starters here and there, some ocasional low and generally a low risk/high reward gameplay.
I remember an interview that a guy made to JDCR (top Japanese player) and he said that the game had very high combo damage and the game should reward more pokes and reads instead of the best attack in the best moment.

Why not play both? I do. Do you rather juggling people or having options? Because all tekken is is juggles but itbis more in depth than SOULCALIBUR.

Tekken isn't retarded, it takes a LOT more work to be good at tekken than soul calibur and in my opinion is the better engine when you are competent with it. And Soul calibur lost the retarded argument the moment viola could tod off of 2K and 3A. Nothing in tekken even compares to that. Soul Calibur is a million times simpler than tekken, which is why its a better fighter for new players but to call out tekken on having dumb stuff is beyond hypocritical compared to SCV. They are both very good FGs.

Look at it this way:
Many tekken players can pick up soul and play competently very quickly, even in tournament. The reverse is much less common.

I was first a Tekken 6 player before I came into Soul Calibur. I have to say I enjoyed both games but I'm leaning towards Soul Calibur more. I still do like Tekken but I haven't really had an interest in picking up TTT2 probably because SCV still takes up my gaming time :P.

I don't think what Syn says is completely true. I would like to think I was at least decent at Tekken but when I first came into SC I got my ass kicked much more. The only difference is that I put more effort into getting good at SCV than at Tekken6, it was just that fun for me.

The 8wayrun movement seems much more fluid and loose in SC than in Tekken, I like that much better. In contrast, the characters are more interesting in Tekken than in SCV( unless you count AEON because he beats all :D). Might I also add that I'm not too big a fan of Tekken's juggle combos. When it comes to fighting mechanics I prefer SC but I'd say Tekken has a better storyline and characters.
