My bad Kosh. Do you agree with me tho?
And as much as the show takes (and does well, at some parts) the philosophy behind X-Men, both this show and Marvel did some ass-backwards thinking with "playing it safe". One example that I can pick out are retcons and character deaths. I hate retcons. It shows a sign of weakness and an inability to deal with things maturely. With X-Men, Grant Morrison's time in the universe pushed the envelope. Mutants were suddenly the majority, popular, and hell there were reality shows dedicated to being a mutant hero. The world was turning over on its head... and what were the humans going to do about it?
Nothing. The story takes a dive and because of one cataclysmic event mutants revert to the status quo they've had since X-Men began. Them moving to San Fransisco doesn't change crap! (Don't even get me started on Spider Man)
That's what I mean when I was excited that Noah was killed -- did Heroes have the balls to actually kill an important character that affected so many people (directly, I might add, as both Sylar and Adam weren't nearly as influential IMO), and even more kill him in a brutal way that would change those lives. Unfortunately they failed my test -- one of which they failed already by keeping Sylar and Nikki alive.
I'm crossing my fingers that they grow a pair for this season and actually have a plot with a beginning and end, and one that sticks. Either way I'll wait for the hype train to die down at the end of the season before I watch it tho...
...Yeah, I really care about my comics.
