I like all replies that are respectful and have manners, regardless if you agree with me or not. Sadly there isn't enough of that on the internet these days and it's refreshing to see a thoughtful, sober response instead of just angry trolling or e-bullying. Everyone these days really gets their panties in a wad because "OMG SOMEBODY DISAGREED WITH ME ON THE INTERNET".
Keep it up. We need more people like you in the world.
To address your point, arcade balance testing had a much longer time before the console version was releases. This meant more testing before a balance patch, as opposed to SCV which released unnecessary balance changes too early and basically turned viola from a VIABLE middle tier to an almost broken infinite combo or ridiculous tekken-like juggles.
I may be new to this site but I am certainly not new to forum websites. They all pretty much operate the same way, with the exception that this particular site regulates the content more than a communist society regulates it's government.
I don't really get was all the fuss is about. People express their opinions, you either disagree and ignore, or you comment and try to argue a point. Either way, no harm done. The world keeps spinning. Why do people make such a big deal out of this? It's a fucking video game, not politics.
But hey I just realized that I broke one of the websites 'sacred' rules. I'm not allowed to bash any SC game. Woopsie daisy.
At times this site and others out there have people who have opinions that want to be like facts. They are best described as: religion that no one wants to hear. The "having opinions" part is fine, and no here will attack you until they want proof. Then it's like you're in court and you got to testify. Everyone wants to know your who, what, when, why, and how stuff. If the info they receive satisfies them, then all is well. If not, one ought to provide proof until kingdom come. Even if it's a simple chat about say why is SCII>SCV.
Personally speaking, the providing proof part does indeed sound like something people in court do. Not trying to harp on anyone, but some of the problems is the lack of communication. That and the fact that people on both sides on said argument need to get over being petty, narcissistic, and sensitive when opinions clash.
I can attest that there are times I had to explain why I do what I do being on both sides of the fence. However, I've found not to take an argument too seriously unless for a good reason. However if it's about opinion, I rather be to the point and move on. If I were to be blunt on what I'm arguing to you atm, it's this part....
It isn't the bashing part or whatever your opinions that I dislike as I can live with that. The post is coming off as "waaah these people here are jerks so let me just announce it to the world". This calls in trolls as you should know to do it more to you. Which in turn means I have to sit and watch an argument that's like facebook drama. I could turn away and do my own thing as I usually do, but it sucks when grudges start to appear in topics I usually want to hold a simple chat in. It's like I log in to see drama from this same person and nothing else.
Don't take it the wrong way though, I got no ill will on peeps like you. Just next time it happens, consider the neutral people who just want to chill in topics.
