Gamergate's always been about the ethics of gaming journalism. You ask anyone with an actual degree in journalism and they'll tell you "gaming journalism" is one of the biggest jokes they know.

I could give you any number of examples as to why.

Gamergate really had its origins in a fake scandal. Which was used to springboard claims of corruption. (Sleeping around for reviews, which didn't happen. Sleeping around for awards which weren't actually given...) Saying it's about ethics in an industry where all info is regulated by the game companies regardless is a joke. There's no valid way to provide "ethical" games journalism short of corporate espionage.

This is like trying to apply high standards to TMZ.
