New to 8WR with some questions about Soul Calibur glitches etc.

As for the "SC being scrub friendly" thing, it's safe to say that the statement is one of ignorance. I'm sure many of the players here can attest that SC is a VERY deep game, and just because it doesn't focus on combos/juggles does not mean that it is "noob friendly" at all.

Oh and the Tekken community has always been larger than SC (as far as I know) so that's probably why they aren't considered on the same "tier". Perhaps someone else can elaborate on this as again I'm not too sure.

THANK YOU!! I've said this about a year ago from a friend who plays fighters like tekken, MvC2 and guilty gear a good amount (recently i guess SSF4, Blazblue, and MvC3). I remember saying if you consistently get hit with a certain move, not trying to block/avoid or learn that character's move list, then thats ignorance on their part, not the spammy person. If someone spams like that, then there should be no problem in beating them since they have no clue of their own characters move set, etc.

Indeed.

In a fighting game it is your job to adapt to your opponent. If you can't beat them while they spam the same move repeatedly, it is not their fault. You gotta adapt and figure out a way around what they're doing (although not EVERYTHING has a practical solution).

Unfortunately many players new to fighters can't get past this mindset of "spam is cheap omg" despite how silly it is.

Good to see new members of the community coming in with the ideal competitive mindset.

Tekken gets more "respect" because SRK likes it, for whatever reason. And Koreans, I guess.

Tekken gets more respect because outside of NA it's big, also of all the popular games current...it's the most difficult.
I think when the populace say SC is scrub friendly they mean lack of combos. Which is stupid, but that's the general mentality of 2D players.

sc4 is not taken seriously in the USA because for the first year of the game, when it had the most exposure, hilde and algol were allowed in tournament play. this lead to many regional communities disbanding because people simply didn't have the drive to train themselves against characters with such massive and unfair advantages. by the time both characters were finally banned, i hate to say it but it was simply too late, and the damage by them had already been done.

100% True

We have to take action at the begging. First Impression are the most Lasting Impression

Communication between community leaders and their respective community will play a key role.

Also we need to stop giving leadership roles to to people who want their own rules set, and not what the majority of the community wants.
