Ya we can.
Does anyone think we'll get cameos of any kind, or like P4 and P3, just an acknowledgement that they're in the same world just in a different time/place?

Hell yes! Love the Persona games. Have yet to even beat one, but who cares. This is going to be great.

Would depend just how far in the future this game takes place. Recall that Persona 3 came out in 2005/6 and the time period was 2009/2010. Likewise Persona 4 followed a year after both in release and in the game world's time.
Given that this game is releasing in 2014, it may be taking place in 2016 or even later, thereby making it 10 years after P3 and P4. So if you're looking for cameos I would recommend playing the new Arena game instead.
