Skyrim

I tried playing Morrowind a long time ago, long before I ever played Oblivion.

I think THE reason I didn't like it was because it took forever to find what you're looking for, the journal entries barely told you much of anything, and 90% of my time was spent going from place to place.

I can't say anything for Morrowind's quests, but in Oblivion, several quests involve you to go across the map (fast travel) to talk to someone, then go all the way back, and simply talk to someone else. If I had to actually walk the whole way back and forth it would have driven me insane.

People can hate on the fast travel/map marker system all they want, but for me, without it is just not worth it. Like I said, I want to PLAY the game, not spend hundreds of hours just wandering around.

The dice roll chance to hit thing REALLY bothered me. I mean, it wholeheartedly pissed me off. I made a brand new character, got my first quest, traveled down the road, and couldn't even kill a fucking MUDCRAB because I missed OVER AND OVER. I had no choice but to run. I mean seriously, how am I supposed to do ANYTHING if I can't even kill a mudcrab??

That's when I said, "fuck this game", after I had spend literally 2 hours just trying to find something. I like hard games, but cmon, that shit was too much BS for me. I think adding fast travel was the best thing they could have done for the series, period.

Graphics-wise, you can always get Morrowind Graphics Extender. It allows you to add everything from basic widescreen resolution support and anti-aliasing, to infinite viewing distance, shaders and moving grass.
Cool, I was thinking about getting back into Morrowind soon.

Well you don't have to walk across the whole world since their are boats and striders to pretty much every major city. There is also Mage's Guild teleporters and Mark/Recall.

Reason I hate it in Oblivion and Skyrim is because you can teleport anywhere you have been including every little landmark. You take one big walk across the country that take like 10 minutes and you never have to walk anywhere for more than a minuet because you teleport to something right next to it. It's like the game is playing for you.

Mods ftw. I can enjoy wearing something better than the ugly arch mages robes for my Necro type character.
