Dark Souls

So yeah, after getting lost in fabulous blight town for hours I've decided Dark Souls is inferior to Demon's souls in not allowing me to fast travel between zones. All this back tracking is an unnecessary and time wasting hassle, especially when areas are still rife with things that want to murder me. Many of which seem quite capable of doing so in fact. Anyone know a way to fast travel between checkpoints?

You get this item called the Lordvessel from Gwynevere after you defeat the Dragon Slayer/Executioner duo in Anor Londo (you'll want to kill the dragon slayer first to be able to get the soul of the Executioner). Once you get the Lordvessel, go back to Firelink Shrine and talk to Framps and he'll take you down to this area where you can put the Lordvessel ontop an altar. This will then allow you to fast travel from any bonfire, to bonfires that are linked to Fire Keepers (ex. Firelink Shrine, Daughter of Chaos, Darkmoon blade ect.) It's not the best method of traveling, but it's better than nothing.
 
I prefer killing the fat one first. Ornsteins armor is great for how much it weighs and you can turn his soul into a nice weapon.

it seemed like the only real option to me (though my brother did the reverse when he beat it a few days ago, but his char is way different he's a pyromancer) cause I actually did way more damage to the fat one than ornstein. guessing it's ornstein's lighting resist making my weapon not so hot on it
 
i stood in one place and let them both beat on me and spammed combustion until everything was dead. D:
