They are extremely similar. The netcode for XBL SCV is better though. I find people in ranked that will start at 4 and when the match starts drop to 1 or 2 bars.
What's your opinion of the Tekken series?

lol, I have no reason to do Tekken thunderdomes. Soulcalibur community comes first.

I'm thinking about getting back into Tekken since I have some close friends who still really like the Tekken series. I just wasn't sure at first whether to get better at Soul or Tekken and sometimes, I get a little picky over the aesthetics of games.
Maybe I could get better at learning long move lists in general or getting used to the differences between Tekken and Soul.
