Skyrim

Well, I always thought that combat in Oblivion was pretty brainless.Close to hack and slash. In Skyrim you have more possibilities, shield attacks, dashing, dual weapon wielding, dual cast etc maybe it's not very advanced compared to other games, but it's much better than in oblivion.

Magic is somewhat crippled but it's more realistic and fun at least imo. In Oblivion magic was broken and some spells (paralyze for instance) were almost game breaking.
Indeed!

It's a pretty fantastic game. I got it on release day as a late birthday gift, which was pretty awesome. I've yet to complete the main quest, but I've plugged in a bunch of time into the side quests and everything. I become the leader of the College and Thieve's Guild, but I got gypped out of my thief master armor by a damned glitch. :/

I haven't played much of late, been more into Mass Effect 2, which I'm playing through now for the first time. I'll get back to it eventually, though.

Probably not anytime soon, though, as SCV will soon be dominating my game-time. :D

Talking about bugs...

After killing the first dragon, I got a letter from a "friend" who directed me into "Dead Men's Respite" dungeon. I was following a ghost but got stuck at the very end. I read that there was supposed to be a book next to his body but there was no book so I couldn't advance further. I got trapped inside the dungeon with no way out because of a bug, lol.

I honestly wasn't expecting something like this. Thank God I did a save before I entered the dungeon... otherwise I'd have to start a new game.

Yeah, TES are always buggy... I had another game that failed because the that draugur in Bleak Falls that has the dragon stone fell through the ground and I didn't realize that the quest was screwed up until I'd saved over my other save. :/
