Skyrim

Oh jeez don't get me started on Oblivion. That game was a complete trainwreck. Worst leveling system I've ever seen, which involved endless spamming if you wanted those +5 modifiers on leveling up.

Not to mention a whole shit ton of glitches.

Skyrim was a massive improvement over Oblivion, but skyrim suffers from being too easy and having overpowered mechanics (like smithing for example).

If you ask me, they both fail immensely, where Oblivion is the bigger fuck up IMO.

@Solo

I agree that Chinese stealth armor is broken. However sneaking in Skyrim is overpowered as well. Thankfully, it's only a single piece of equipment that's truly broke, in Skyrim I have dozens of equipment that is equally broken.

Fallout is far from perfect, yes. However it's still light years ahead of Skyrim in terms of competent design.

In Fallout I only use sneaking minimally, and I completely avoid VATS, and I also play on very hard.

I heard they fixed VATS in New Vegas, as in making it not overpowered? Is that so?

*Is glad he has the PC version and uses overhaul mods(prefers Requiem).*

EDIT: About Fallout, just have to love the strategy involved with wearing Chinese Stealth Armour while having 100 sneak and 100 small guns...
First of all, that's a strawman argument since the entire series does not boil down to the stealth suit. Out of six games, five dont feature the stealth suit and in the one instance it appears you have to purchase DLC to get your hands on it. Secondly, it's not like you can't use chameleon spells, enchants and potions to do the same thing in any elderscrolls game standard without even training a single point in sneak. By comparison, one item in one game that doesn't even ship with the vanilla version of that game.

Yes. Grim Reaper's Sprint no longer restores all VATS points and you are no longer invincible while using vats. It's pretty balanced, you can even do special punches and melee attacks in vats in FONV. Honestly DIS, while not terrible, fallout 3 is the worst game in the series IMO, i'm willing to bet you will love NV when you get your hands on it.

Story was better in FO3.

I loved Oblivion and played it dozens of times, though to be fair most of those characters never finished the game. I would start one then start playing a different game once in a while and when I came back I would want to start a new character. Exploration in Oblivion seemed better that Skyrim too if that makes any sense.

Also the spell system, damn if I didn't love Oblivion's spell system way more than the crap in Skyrim.

Well I came here hoping that you guys would actually be discussing cool shit about the game but you guys seem to be debating if the game is even worth playing instead. Haha if any of you guys are still interested in this thread I'd love to talk some Skyrim with you guys.
